Throttleman Pal Virik Nilsen will have a new driver in the 2018 XCAT World Championship in Team Australia. Last year’s driver Brett Luhrmann will be replaced by Norwegian Jan Trygve Braaten.
Brett had a shoulder operation this winter after the Dubai crash last year. Therefor he has no chance to race this year.
Brett and Lori Luhrmann will continue as co-owners for the team in 2018 season.
Jan Trygve Braaten has a big and impressive CV from offshore racing. Many championship titles under his belt mainly from class 3b and 3C.

Pal says: It will for sure be an interesting season. After we lost the championship title by the smallest margin last year I am sure we can manage to keep the same pace or even more to be able to fight for podiums and race wins this year. I am glad Brett still will be around us as a Team principal because we have a lot of experience together in the boat that we can use positive to gain even more performance in 2018.
Team manager Lars Inge graver says: It has been a busy winter to plan this season. The changes in the team made the solitaire a bit more complicated. Anyway, I now believe we have a strong crew and even a better boat than last season. This will make us a strong contender for the world title that we lost in a heartbreaking way last year. That is forgotten now and we are more than ready to fight the tittle tells Mr. Graver.
