Azerbaijan course 6-7 july

Azerbaijan

Baku hosts the second race F2 World Championship 2013. The 2 miles field is designed just in front of the Baku Boulevard facing the Caspian Sea. The bent seaboard line is ideal for powerboating races allowing a complete view of the field: a real “Powerboating Stadium”. The F2 racing boats will be hosted by their teams in the tents of the paddock area inside the F2 village. Cranes positioned along the shore will care for quickly howling the boats in and off the water, allowing the teams’ mechanics to trim the boats, exchange the propeller, check the engine and immediately restart.

Baku

In this sense, the floating pontoon in front of the F2 Village works like the well known pit lane of the car racing scenes, positioned besides the boxes. The F2 racing circuit is signed by big-sized floating buoys, 5 in the case of the Baku Grand Prix, plus those utilized for signing the entry and the exit lines.

The circuit is driven counter clockwise due to the peculiar construction of the racing boats and the turning sense of the propeller.

Like in car racing, a professional rescue team, formed by specialized doctors, divers and fire fighters, stays besides the course, ready to intervene.
