Race 2 of the Class-1 season is over and Pal Virik Nilsen with driver Giorgio Manuzzi got seventh place also today. After a re-start the boats got away in the big waves and wind outside. Nice action as the boats jumped around before the first corner and then inside to the very calm ”fjord”. Pal and Manuzzi was delayed before they go inside due to the gate system the organizers has put up. They turned on pin number three witch is 300 meter longer to go.
Anyway, they got inside in seventh place and hold the position for the rest of the race.
Pal says: I am very happy the boat completed the race. After much troubble all week the ambitions was not that high. But we are happy with the race and we got better and better together in the cockpit. Some more practice and experience together needs also. The new start gate on this course is good for the safety but very bad for boats in the left side of the grid. Many meters is allready lost before even the boats get inside.
Big thanks to Giorgio, Chris Parsonage and all his crew. All did a great job considering the short preparation time the team had. We now look forward to the race in Arendal and we will be better prepared there. See you there!
