No luck for the Mustang boys in the Offshore Grand Prix in Mackay, Australia. Rough seas and much wind did it difficult for all the boats today. The Mustang/Maritimo boat of Pal Virik Nilsen and Tom Barry-Cotter had lots of technical trouble, but thats the game of racing sometimes.
In race one the boys did not even reach the startline. Just like last year in Mackay. After the warm up lap one engine just stopped. A fuel leak on one engine forced Tom and Pal to return to pit without the chance to join the start.
The problem got fixed and they was ready to race again in the second race for the day. On first straight after the start they realized that it was problems with the trim. A vital part witch can be compared with a flat tyre or just driving the track on one gear with a car. Therefor it was just a matter of bringing the boat home to secure some point.
Pal says: Yes offcourse i get very dissapointed and frustrated when such thing happens. I know we have the speed and what it takes to win but sometimes the technical stuff stop us. I believe the crew does their best as usual to fix the trim and make the boat fit for Townsville next week. And that we can get a revenge there. We deserve that now i feel.... Congratulations to Maritimo 15 with Luke & Rossco witch had a trouble free weekend and nice driving!
