After two racewins this weekend in Townsville Australia, Pal Virik Nilsen and Tom Barry-Cotter are back in the hunt for the Australian title. They are now currently on 3rd place overal when half season is completed.....
After the very bad weekend in Mackay last week the team was hungry for sucsess in Townsville. Quite calmer conditions looks to suit the Mustang boat much more. On saturdays pole position Pal and Tom got the fastest lap and therefor started todays race in line 1. They took the start in both races and had the lead from start to finish. Enginewise this looks very good for the future of the Maritimo team. Both boats in the team completed all races this weekend.
Pal says: I am very happy how the weekend went on. After Mackay we where so dissapionted so this is just the boost we needed. The boat worked very fine and i must thank the team for a good job. After our "Wasted trip" to Mackay i must admit that we needed some race wins here to not look like "fools". I remember last year also we had many problems in the first four races with no finish in all of them. But then we woke up and won the rest of them including the 2010 title. I hope we can repeat that for the rest of the Australian season this year. We must bring the good feeling further!
Now i am off to Europe and Arendal for the world championship race there with Parsonage racing 15-27 July. I guess i am good prepared before Norwegian GP when it comes to seat time. I hope the team also is prepared and ready to beat the 7th place we got in Abu Dhabi GP.
The next race in the Australian Series is in September in Redcliffe.
