On the race today we got out as we planed. After some laps we where on 6th place. On lap seven in a turn we started to feel very strong vibrations in the boat. I stopped the engines and our race was over.......
A propeller blade had gone off. Very sad to not get in the end but for sure we have learn ourselves a bit and the future looks good we feel. Tom is a really talented driver!
Our team mates Bjørn R. Gjelsten and Steve Curtis got also minor problems with serious damage if they havent reach the pit before sinking. The boat took inn water just after few laps. they managed to fix it and got back to the race. They finished in 5th place, and valuable points for the championship.
So after this weekend we are not happy with the outcome, but we are happy to have more expirience together. We also get well together outside the boat i think.
The next race is in Arendal 20-22 july. The boat, truck & bus for team # 20 will now go for repainting and will be in the Spirit colours before Arendal! Boat will also have som major changes before next round. Big thanks to our mechanics Torgeir "Torro", Tom "turtall", Peter "Muddy", Bill and our team manager Ann Marie. Great Job!
