Five weeks after sustaining extensive damage following a crash during practice at the Chess Norwegian Grand Prix in August, Roscioli Hotels throttleman, Nicola Giorgi has confirmed that repairs have gone well and that work on the boat is nearing completion. “The guys in Italy are working hard to repair the boat and she will be ready next week. They are making her lighter and are removing the modification under the tunnel we did last year because we want to came back to her previous performances and to her biggest advantage which was to be able to turn very quickly,” he said, adding. “So we are confident to improve our performances because this year we have better engines.”
As to who will join Nicola in the cockpit at the next race in Doha, Qatar on Monday, 7 November is still to be decided. “Who will the driver be - we don't know yet who will be my partner. I made my proposal to Pål Virik Nilsen and I am waiting for his reply....we will see, and for sure the crash we had in Trondheim was not his fault.” said Nicola. Source: www.class-1.com
